Frequently asked questions
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is a reversible encoding that anyone can decode. It makes binary data safe to embed in text formats; it does not hide or protect it.
Why does my output differ from btoa()?
btoa() only accepts Latin-1 characters. This tool encodes text as UTF-8 first, which is what servers and other languages expect for non-English text and emoji.
