How to use the JSON to Excel (XLSX) Converter

  1. Paste JSON or open a .json file. An array of objects becomes one sheet; {"users": [...], "orders": [...]} becomes a sheet per key.
  2. Nested objects are flattened into dotted columns such as address.city; untick Flatten to keep them as JSON text.
  3. Check the preview, then click Download .xlsx.

Privacy and limitations

  • Your data is processed on your device and is not uploaded to any server.
  • No cell formatting, column widths or formulas are added; text that starts with = is stored as plain text.
  • Arrays inside records become indexed columns (tags.0, tags.1) when flattening, or JSON text otherwise.
  • Excel limits a sheet to 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns, and a cell to 32,767 characters (longer text is truncated).

Frequently asked questions

Are numbers written as numbers?

Yes. JSON numbers and booleans become numeric and TRUE/FALSE cells; strings stay text, so "01234" keeps its leading zero. null becomes an empty cell.
